your tank can only hold 50 inches of fish. you need to just choose the fish you really like and stick with them if they are all compatible.

this is what i would do: (but these are the fish i like so it depends)
3 angelfish(6in x 3=18in) - now you have 32in

11 cardinal tetras instead of neons(1.5in x 11=16.5) - now you have 15.5in (neons will be preyed on by angels when they are bigger, but cardinal tetras look the same and are bigger and wont get eaten)

5 corydora that are 2 inches long(2in x 5=10in) - that leaves you with 5.5in

pair of dwarf gouramis(2.5in x 2=5in) which leaves you with only 0.5in

i think this would make a nice looking tank with the different colors and species that can coexist with each other peacefully. you dont have to do this but it is combining all the fish you want into something easy for beginners with a community tank. you dont have to do this and can alter it, but this is what i would do with my experience. i hope this helps.

Well, I kept 2 angels with neons for about 6 months,
and then the female started eating them.
Now, I keep one of my breeding pairs daughters with
my neons and she has no interest whatsoever in eating them, and she is plenty big enough. I think it really depends on the Angels, and also if the neons have enough
places to hide.
Remember, neons usually only live about 1 year,
and Angels will take about 9-12 months to grow large enough to eat them.
Also, if you keep your angels very well fed they are less likely to eat live food.

The chilclids will probably attack the neon tetras.

Personally, I dont know about always swapping your fish in.
What a waste!]:|
Angels are awesome when they are big!
Remember, these are living creatures
that deserve a "Forever Home", just like any dog or cat!
I would only get fish you plan to keep for their whole lives.
Yes your stock list would be just fine as you have in your last post, including the angels at FULL size.
Remember, neons dont live very long, and it does take
quite a while for Angels to grow large enough to eat them,
and some angels will, some angels wont.

Yes it's a planted tank ( i whant a jungle)lol
I'm not going to keep my angel full sizes probably t'ill they reach 4 " then bring them back to my lfs and get some quarter size again !!!!

So 5 rainbows 3 angels, 2 pearl gouramis, 17 neons, 1 clown pleco, 6 panda cory and 2 bolivian ram is ok?????

hmm how about this:

since b. rainbows are shoalers how about

5 rainbows
3 angels or 2 pearl gouramis.... (I wouldnt go with both. They are both top dwellers and in many cases i know of will fight)
17 neons(wont last long with angels though)
1 clown pleco
6 panda cories
pair of rams

Is this going to be a planted tank? If so and you keep up with water changes your tank should be able to hold this bioload. Also, if you choose the fish I've listed there should be minimal aggression. Good luck.

here is what i said in a post up a bit but here it is anyway. this is what i would do.

to calculate inches in a freshwater fish tank you take the lenght times the width and divide it by 12 to get the inches of fish. it differs for coldwater and marine fish though.

you could add like 5 panda cories and then 1 small pleco. i have a clown pleco and he will grow to only like 3-5 inches which would be perfect for your tank.

You could add 6-8 panda cories(keep on top of water changes so the nitrates don't get too high for them) and a clown pleco to the bottom. The problem lies in the top swimming fish. Your pushing it for space and while it may be fine for now the angels will grow and 4 of them plus 1 school of tetras could probably take over the top half of a 60g by themselves. If you took back an angel or 2 when they get bigger you could keep 2 rams and maybe 2 dwarf gouramis. Dwarf gouramis sometimes get agressive toward each other so you may end up with just 1 unless you can find a female gourami. 1male and 1female would get along but females are a plain greyish color and usually not sold. Since the angels are quite small it will take a awhile for them to grow so it would work for now at least.

Ok so keeping in mind that i already have 4 angels and 17 neons! you suggest that i could add some panda corys how many 6?, 1 small (clown)pleco, 2 pearl gourami.
could i put 2 dwarf gourami and 2 bolivian ram?????

P.S if any fish get big for the tank i'm bringing it back to lfs and replace them for samller fish! could this be done??????

Casper already has the neons so there's no point in suggesting cardinals. Along with that I would put a school of smaller cories(panda are good) and 1 small pleco. No common plecos or anything with any size.
Gouramis will not eat neons. Even big gouramis won't eat neons. Well Osphronemus goramy would but that species of gourami won't even fit in that tank. I would not add 2 species of gouramis. The pearls are one of the more peaceful and so would be the most likely that you could keep 2. 2 blue gouramis or 2 dwarf might work but the chances are much lower. Also with the number of angels in there once everyone is full grown it might not work.
I really don't think another schooling fish will fit especially something as big as congos. If you want congos you'll have to drop the gouramis and probably an angel or 2.

my tank it's a 60 gal 48 Length x 12.5 Width x 23.5 Height

I would stick to having maybe 4 or 5 species.

How about:

17 neons
4 angels (Have they paired up?...When they do it may be a good idea to remove one pair)
2 pearls
8-10 panda cories or 1\2 SMALL plecos

It is better to slowly stock your tank until you hit your limit, rather than stocking every fish at once

Casperjoker,

I get the feeling that you missed the point. It is not that you need to provide caves for the fish (BTW, none of them, IMHO, is a cave dweller) but rather that there are simply too many.

Do you know what I mean?

Ok i'm going try this combination and see how it goes.

I guess i'll be needing some caves to provide hiding space!
how many should it be one cave for fish (gouramis, cichlid, cory, pleco???). I saw a site that has diy caves made by pvc pipes?? and some with coco shells or pot for plants. Wich of these are beter
