| neolamprologus cylindricus breeding behavior? | |
Dolf![]() Enthusiast Posts: 203 Kudos: 180 Votes: 46 Registered: 09-May-2004 ![]() | Anyone have experience in breeding cylindricus? My biggest is again doing head stands outside his favorite cave. I'm thinking he might be guarding eggs. Anyone seen this sort of thing? He was doing it a couple months back and recently I found a cylindricus fry in the tank. Bonus fish! Normally my 3 cylindricus share the big rock in the center of the tank, swimming in and out of it's caves. Now the smallest has taken up residency in another rock. The middle one swims around the big rock where the biggest cylindricus stands guard. I'm guessing they pair up to breed. Then, once the eggs are deposited, the male stands guard over the nest. I cannot see much of the inside of the cave and the rock is to big to remove from the tank. So, if they are breeding, is there anything I can do to help out short of removing all of the other fish? |
