| new 47gal.. a few Q's | |
jgillece![]() Banned Posts: 31 Kudos: 20 Registered: 27-Sep-2005 ![]() | Hi all ![]() just got this new tank.. 47 gal C:\Documents and Settings\E0114009\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLKFC\Photo 05.jpg its a "bow front"(curved) after I bought it i read in a book that these are not recomended... anyone have any idea why? also.. I'm cycling now, but, I want to set this up with like 2 bigger centerpeice fish, and 2-3 small schools.. anyone have any suggestions? thanks so much! Possibly the joints that connect the "bow" to the remainder of the tank, I would think would be weaker than the other seals (assuming that the tank is not one piece). Of course if the tank is acrylic, the surface is scratched extremely easily. |

I would suggest you peruse the tetra profiles here and elsewhere, maybe you even have a book with desc Also, Rasboras are a good schooling fish. Centerpiece fish, also many options, how about Gouramies? One male and one female though. Ingo |

You could have two schools or just one big school. Like LF said, take a look at the profiles on here and then go to the fish store and see what they have. You want to get an idea about what you want and then see what's available. Rasboras are also very nice. I am thinking about getting them for a 48 gallon I am getting soon. For centerpiece you could have a gourami, an angel (only suggest one), or Rams (German or Bolivian)...though they are smaller. There are also many options. What kind of substrate do you have? What kind of lighting? And do you plan to have plants or aquascape (add driftwood or rocks) the tank? |
