	new filter??
ILoVeOsCaRs Banned Posts: 82 Kudos: 96 Votes: 4 Registered: 31-May-2005	i have just bought a FLUVAL 3 internal filter to run alongside my aquel fan 3 filter inside my 30g tank this is because of my messy oscar. 2 questions 1. im not over filtering am i 2. can i just put it in the tank and it will not afect the profile of my water i.e ammonia levels nitrates etc. Thanks

krige Big Fish Posts: 405 Kudos: 1088 Votes: 377 Registered: 24-Jul-2003	In mt opinion there is no such thing as over filtration.And having a second filter will not change the parameters of a settled tank,it will just make them more stable as cleaning alternate filters means you always have 1 fully established colony of bacteria working. Gibson SG you know you want one!!

tankie Fish Addict Posts: 857 Kudos: 848 Votes: 230 Registered: 15-Mar-2005	the cleaner the water...the better..ur just doing fine...and yes, the water parameters will be affected in the positive way...if both has activated carbon...ur water will definitely be more crystal clear...u have double biological and mechanical filters as well...as far as im concern...ur parameters will be 0-0 for nh4 and no2. cheers
