its time for a new light

i have two that im thinking about

the hagen aqua glo 18,000k 15w

or the lighting rod 11,000k Ultra Daylight 15w

i have lots of plants and colourful fish that i want to bring out more colour in.

i just dont know what LFS person to listen to

help plz

Neither.

6700K is the preferred and recommended color range for plant health and growth. If you have a 4 tube canopy, mix 6700k and 10,000k for a variation in the color spectrum.

If only 2 tubes, go with 6700k for both.

Look in your local hardware store for daylight deluxe tubes (best), or high noon bulbs, or daylight bulbs (in that order from best to worse) Cost for example is $5. per tube as opposed to $15. per tube at the LFS.
