I am setting up A planted south american biotype
in a 91w + 45d + 47H tank
and would like to stock

4 small silver dollars
Two TINY angel
4 dwarf cichlids (apistogramma)
2 Pictus cats
& 10 or more cardinal tetras
would this be feasible?

Any other suggestions?
I only want south american fish.

Looks ok to me, but I would prob loose the pictus cats.

"Peaceful when young, though grows agressive with age. Pictus catfish are shoaling and prefer to have the company of their own kind. Good for community tanks with medium sized fish. Will eat small fish such as Neons."

I would trade the 2 of them for 6 cories. Other than that I'd say your pretty full.

How many gallons does that translate too?

I'd lose the pictus cats as well; although cute, IMO they do more harm than good unless you have the perfect tank for them. A shoal of 6+ smaller cories would be much nicer.

Be warned, small silver dollars don't stay small. They can get to a considerable size and I believe they like to schoool...

You can get a school of 6 Corydoras, instead of the Pictus.

If it was in inches it would be over 800 gals. I checked.
Centimeters, it's 50 gals..

votes for centimeters

According to the site calculators you have a 50g tank. Out of the stock you said you want, you are safe with the 2 angels, the dwarf cichlids, and the cardinal tetras. As others mentioned, the pictus cats won't work because they grow large, are predatory, and like to be in groups. Also as mentioned, the silver dollars like to school and grow very large. Neither species will fit in your tank when fully grown.

Since it is a South American biotope (I'm currently working on one myself ), you can get a school of 6-10 corys (the same species), a whiptail cat]http://fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/whiptail.xml[/link], OR a [link=twig cat OR a smaller pleco like a bristlenose, otos, a school of larger tetras like lemons, red serpaes, black phantoms, etc., or pencilfish (they're schoolers). Those are just a few suggestions. check them out and see what you like.

I also suggest changing out the pictus...trade them with your LFS for some of the other suggestions. They are schooling and would prefer more space to swim. Additionally you may find your cards start to dissapear....pictus are known for eating anything they can fit in their mouths and catch. Since they have big mouths and are rather fast the cards may be invited for lunch if they like it or not .

The tank is in centermetres
And the silver dollars will be housed into my 6'r
when they get bigger
And maybe the angels aswell
WHEN I transfer the silver dollars to the big tank
what other fish could be housed?

A severum would be a nice addition/center piece fish, after the angels are removed.

But really it's up to you. Browse the profiles choose fish you like then ask us if they will work.
