is it healthy for my mystery snail to be eating a dead gourmia. yes the gourmia harrassed the snail so this is slighty ironic

Snails will eat any dead fish that they find in the tank.

But, letting a fish decompose in the tank is a top-notch way to get an ammonia apike that could lead to more dead fish.

I never see a dead fish. My applesnails have it gone before I know. Even the 7" farlowella disapeared without a trace. They also eat any dying plant matter so I don't have to remove it. They really are a great cleanup crew.

i don't keep snails, and if i did, i would get a clown loach to eat them all. but i too would take the fish out instead of letting it eat them.
