I had checked online to see who sold bio spira and found a dealer here in town, I called them and asked them if they had it and how much it cost, they said yes. Well today I went to pick it up because I need to clean and cycle a 10 gallon by tomorrow night. Well when I got there to pick it up they only had cycle and stability, has anyone ever used either one of these? I also have a 29 gallon cycled and another 10 gallon cycled. Any ideas?

You will not be able to cycle a tank overnight even with Biospira. All it does is speed up the process, but it will still probably take around 10-14 days.

SERA do have a plan that can be done from "day 1" using two of their products.

Sera Aqutan and Sera Nitrivec.

But to do this the tank must be completly set up and running, Filter,Heater, & lights all working properly.

You start of by introducing 10% of the fish "Day 1" Next day.

For more info contact Sera WWW.sera.de

I am basically doing this but there is a hold up in getting all the required plants I will be introducing 75% about day 20+

If I had all the plants I would still hold back at least 10-14 days.

The only way to start right away in Day-0 would be:

Get some gravel or 'seeded' filter media from an established tank and put it in your filter. The more filter or rocks you get, the more bacteria you'll have.

Anyway, it might show some spike sooner or later. Some bacteria dies just from switching from tank water to 'cleaner' water...

Actually it does completely cycle overnight. You will never see an ammonia or nitrite spike. The Bio-Spira, has all the bacteria needed for the tank. Thus, if you don't add fish within the 24 hours, you will actually have some bacteria die off, and this will cause your tank to start re-cycling. Unlike some of the other types of quick cycling products, this one only needs to be used once, and not re-added every month or so like many of the others. The Bio-Spira is complete.

Some where I read that you put your fish in the same time as bio spira.

You can do this, but it is better to wait 24 hours, so that the bacteria can go through the tank and be settled in before their food arrives.

Actually, you will still need to go slowly when adding fish in this method. IMO, it is the best method, but you will not have enough bacteria in the new tank for a completed fish filled tank. You should start with a very low bioload when doing it this way, and let the cycle keep up with any new additions. There is really no "die off" when adding these items with bacteria on them to a new tank. The thing is, you are just taking partial amounts of bacteria from the old tank, and adding to the new. Not all the cycle bacteria. So, you have to allow them to catch up from the added bioload. If you get any spike of any kind, ammonia or nitrite, then you added too many fish too quickly.

HTH....
