at one point in time i had a beautiful tank full of schooling fish. a fifty five haevly planted aquarium with barbs rainbow fish and guramis. then i bought this tiny goby about 2 in. it had always been my thought that gobys where reletivly small fish. i was wrong

it vanished for about a month and during that month alot of my fish where vanishing as well. i blamed it on a channel cat i had. then one day my goby appeared 10 inches long. he at all my schoolers and left only my gouramis and big fish.

i don't mind him that much but i would like to know what he is. he was sold to me as a night goby, but is clearly not. he is as i said 10 in, and he has grey and black marbel coloring.
please help identify

Sounds like a batanga/dormitator or any other large sleeper. Do you know where it was captured?
