(today is monday) my cycle went by quickly, but this tank has already been used, i just re-did it after i lost most of my fish. the rocks are the same (just added hot water to kill any diseases, such as ich), my biofilter is still the same. and a bit of water under the rock level is the same. if my specs improve as anticipated, would it be ok to add fish? i intend to add 4 tiger barbs to my 29 gal, then wait 2 or so weeks til i add anything else (probably 2 more tigers) |

The best thing to use (and cheaper) is baking soda. Try adding half a teaspoon per day until you reach the desired pH you want. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. Otherwise I know the limestone does a semi decent job as well, it just becomes your decoration...heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

Unless you are going for african cichlids or fish that require neitral water keep it a 6.4. That would be an awesome tank for Rams, Tetras, and maybe Discus depending on the tank size Tiger Barbs...do they mind low pH? I'm not sure. |

Leave the pH alone it is perfect for alot of tetras and alot of fish can adapt to pH. 20 Gallon Long: Aquaclear 300 2 Bolivian Rams, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus: Gumby and Pokey |
