Like 20 "long" being longer and shorter than a normal 20, "breeders" offer greater surface area than your average tank. 30 long is 36 x 12 x 17 30 Breeder is 36 x 18 x 12 40 breeder is 36 x 18 x 16 Last edited by Kitten at 01-Mar-2005 21:35 ~Meow. Plus, most fish breed best in species-only tank. That would be boring for a newcomer, only havign two fish in a nice, big 30 gallon tank. Also, you have to have extra room in a breeding tank for fry, so you would have less fish, again, might be a bit boring. I'd say a 20 - 55 gallon with lots of tetras and very small fish. As far as cost and space, you migh want to stick with a 20 or 30 like the monkey said. |

They're small enough not to be overwhelming and large enough to be stable and have many different options. |
