do reverse trios usually work. i got a reverse trio of paradice fish, and idk if reverse trios are good, b/c of two males.

I don't know for sure on the paradise fish if a reverse trio will work...

I know it works well with my corries, but they are different

I'd suggest since you already did it, make sure that they have plenty of room to run and escape any unnecessary aggression...and I'd keep an eye on them to make sure that the two boys don't decide to gang up and overly harass the little gal...
