illustrae Fish Addict Posts: 820 Kudos: 876 Registered: 04-May-2005	While I like the idea of maybe one day having my own small (50 gal.) reef tank, I am absolutely in love with freshwater aquaria because there are so many vastly different biotopes you can emulate, whereas with salt water, you can pretty much only replicate tropical reef conditions in home aquaria, so like cory said, if you've seen one reef tank, you've pretty much seen them all. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

However with that being said, I do very much prefer freshwater tank. I like the plants, decorations aquascaping and all that, and really don't like coral.
