ill soon b geting a 125 gallon tank
which i am going to plant heavily with south american plants
the stock list ive choosen so far is some of my more favorite tetras that ive bred over the years with the exception of golds n rummies

20 neons
10 cardinals
10 rummy nose
6 pristellas
6 green fires
6 glo lites
6 black phantoms
6 black neons
6 gold tetras
4 german blue rams
thats a total of 80 fish
for the bottom i want 10 cories of 2 types making a total of 90 fish
the idea is to have a colourful active planted tank and with 9 types of small tetras n 2 types of cories i think my point will b acheived
my question is what smaller cories r the most suited for a heavily planted tank with rocks n drift wood, black background and very dark substrate?
i was thinkin pygmies n leapords but i have not had either
also what r some nicer SA plants i have swords n java ferns n java moss?

I'm not really qualified to help you with the plants, but I can answer your Corydoras question with another question: How small do you want your cories to be? C. pygmaeus is one of the tiniest cory species, while leopard cories reach at least two inches in size. The pygmies are awfully small, they would be pretty tough to spot in such a large tank. Do you want cories that would be more easily visible?
Species that would look good against a dark substrate include C. adolfoi, C. panda, C. brevirostris, C. davidsandsi, and any of the other lightly-colored cories. They would show up more readily than some of the darker ones. And, I'd recommend keeping at least six of each species, instead of five. You've got plenty of room in that tank for more fish, so you may as well add more cories. That will keep them happier and more active, and you will be able to see more of them.

I hope that helps you a little bit.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
