It is true that they will often 'trim' a betta's fins, but this is not always the case. Also, many bettas can co-exist just fine with neons, and not kill them. It depends on the personality of the betta, and it's all hit-and-miss. |

The list for the 20g is definitely ok, and for the 10g, just make sure you keep it well maintained. Personally, I'd choose a dwarf gourami over the betta for the 10g just to avoid any possible problems. In most cases the betta would be ok, but every once in a while you do get a fish that just doesn't tolerate certain conditions. I have a couple buttheads myself ![]() |

I might just leave the 10 with the cories and neons. I really don't like bettas or gouramis, I was just looking for variety. |
