First can you do some thing about your colours as it totally "Black" I can only see it if I move the arrow over you post.

Are you thinking of putting two M Bettas in the same tank? If so this is a big NONO as you will soon find out they will fight and possibly to the death of both of them.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

i wouldn't try a male and a female in a 10 gallon. if that is what u want to do, really the 2.5 would be better for the single male u have, and the 10 for the female with other fish.

No, You cannot put a male and female betta together
in the same tank.
You could do a male Betta in a 10g with some small corys, like daintys or pygmys, or a snail, or some shrimp,
or maybe some african dwarf frogs, or dwarf chain loaches.

Don't leave them together in a 10 gal. tank.
If you want some Corydoras as bottom feeders, remember to get at least 6, as they are schooling fish.
Don't overcrowd a 10 gal. tank, as it's quite difficult to keep it balanced.

It would be Ok to put one Male OR one Female betta in the ten gallon, but not both. The other fish you add to this tank need to be small - not over two inches and peaceful. You don't want any fin nippers with a male betta. Small tetras like neons, cardinals, lemons or glowlights (or similar in size and temperment) would be your best choice.
A ten is a little small for corys as they like to be in schools of at least six - perhaps panda cories, if you can find them. A good alternative would be two or three ottos. Ottos stay small, and are good algae eaters. I have one rubbernose pleco, that will stay fairly small, in one of my ten gallon tanks but if you get a pleco - avoid getting a common pleco that most pet stores sell, because they get huge.
The two and a half gallon is fine for another male or female (one or the other, but not both) betta.

riri1:

Most male Betta's will fight or kill any other fish with flashy colours, in other words, anything that could possibly resemble another Betta.
So I personally would not put something like neon tetras in the same tank as a Betta.
As far as the Botia sidthimunki (your dwarf chain loaches) I've read they grow any where from 2.4 - 5 inches. They as far as I know would probably do OK with a Betta.

Keep in mind the general rule of thumb. 1 gallon of water per inch of slim bodied fish.

I like the botia sidthimunke, some sort of non flashy, drab colored bottom feeder not having too elaborate finnage should do well. many Betta will do well with tankmates, provided they (the tankmates) are of a neutral color and without large flowing fins. Another thing worth mentioning is the importance of the ORDER you put them in. Put the BETTA in LAST. Tht's right, last. The Betta will, if placed in first, develop "his territory" (the entire tank if he's in first) and then will defend it if you put others into his tank. I have Zed, my Betta in a ten paired with a snail. I wish I had a bottom feeder in there but alas, not since he owns the tank.
