It's some kind of fungus or something that grows on new rubber like a slime coat. It may even be an algae, as my ottos seem to like eating it. It doesn't appear to be harmful to fish or affect water quality, and after a few weeks, the rubber will stop developing the stuff. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
