Size-wise it's the equivalent of a 55 gallon! It would probably be $100-$200 at a petstore, except none of them even carry cages that big!

Unless it is right on the side of the road then I would be putting a note in their letterbox or taping one to their front door asking what plans they had for the tank, and add your contact details. Thats the polite thing to do. Besides if you dont ask and just grab the tank then I bet it will be a leaker when you get it home and all cleaned up. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
