I am 50/50 A and B although I am becoming more B due to lack of cash.

My 55 gal. I really don't mess with that much because I have things pretty much how I want them. I do change the stuff around about once a month just so I can clean under some of the big rocks where the poo hangs out.

My 20 gal. is more of a project tank. First of all it is a planted tank so there are always things to mess with. Secondly I have had some problems with loosing fish in this tank. There for this one is my part A.

In all honesty this is the one thing that stays constant and isn't affected with the ADD...Then again maybe it's because I'm lazyOnce I get a tank set how I want it I don't want to undo itThat could be why I have ended up with the numerous tanks So I am more of the "B" Set up the tank, and do you maintenance...I might add plants, or more fishies (if it's not already fully or overstocked) That is why it is so hard for me to make a decision to change anything on my tanks...and is why I'm dragging rear on the 125, along with redoing my 29 gallon that is in serious need of remodeling...I'm even so bad that I am having trouble deciding where to move my small betta tanksthe original plan just isn't going to work

Ok through rambling, jeez I can't seem to keep my head on straight or shut upheidi

I'm a B only because I have to If I could, I'm sure I'd change my tanks all the time, but the parents are only willing to drive me to my LFS so often....

I'm a "B" although if I see something that can "better" the tank, I will upgrade. So maybe I'm a little of both A & B.

Ha, I'm definatly B. I love what I've done with my tanks, and I want to try something different, so I'll get another tank instead of changing it ^_^*

The only time I tinker is when I get a new plant or crackle glass piece for my 55. I haven't gotten it to look like I want it yet (lack of money) so I'm having to do it very, very slowly. Buying a new plant when I can afford it, finding that awesome piece of crackle glass at a yard sale... ect.

The 10 I have upstairs hasn't really changed much. The stock has 'cause of the guppy fry, but not the decor. I've already got a layout picked for the 33 and pair of angels I'm getting ^_^, and I doubt I'll change my mind too much on what I'm getting for it.

OK, I fell like a dummy but what is mts?
And I feel I'm a B with a small bit of A. I move th plants around a bit (they/re plastic) to do a better gravel vac. I also move the center piece (a large driftwood fake) for the same reason. I tried the live plant thing but failed due to poor lighting and couldn't find any decent looking plants locally. Plus I like moving things around and playing in water

A post I was reading got me thinking... do aquarium keepers fall into two categories

a) Tinkerers (change set up, stock, combos constantly)

or

b) Set up and stay (decide what you like and stay faithful to the cause)

Just wonderin' is all

So which one are you ----------> a or b ?

hmmm, lets see... i have one tank that i am still trying to get right with the fish species combo, so atm, i'm an A, but, once i have it stable with the right fish combo, i'm going back to being a B like i was before i had to upgrade my tank.

hmmmm. I am both.

my big tank with the Clown loaches is left alone cos i am pretty pleased with it, my smaller tank is a complete pain got snails and the plants wont grow, fish get this horrid disease, its a sort of wasting disease. really i should break it down and start again new everything but i haven't got the money.

so instead i fiddle everycouple of months new plants and less often new fish - i find my baby fish do very well but new stock don't - no reslience to the disease.

the tank downstairs gets fiddled with, to the point it drives my mum bonkers! so actually if i am honest i am a "A"!

I have MTS and i have an A tank and a few B tanks.

I feel like i'm in therapy!

i think i belong to A, because i haven't got to the point i think my tank is "perfect".

on the other hand, i plan more than i move things around, so it's quite for about 6-10 months at a time.

of course, the easiest way to tinker is to get new tanks...

btw, you'd be surprised how much tinkering a small tank can take. insert live stem plants, and the fun begins!

I'm a bit of both, at this point. I have a community tank that is in flux from time to time, and I have a large tank with a very specific purpose: It's large enough for both my pleco (almost 10 inches now) and some angelfish.
I agree that too much redecorating and changing around is not so good for the fish (with a few exceptions such as when introducing new fish and breaking up established territories so the newcommers don't get too picked on).

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I would consider myself a "B" but I do the regular tidy and clean up. I think moving things around too much causes extra unnecessary stress on the fish.

I've been in it for just less than 2 years and I'm still tinkering.
Right now my biggest problem is someone not doing what they are told, and this results in some fish dying.
I guess it is best for one tank to have but one master.

B
I've also noticed that most people who pick B are either not that much into the hobby, or are suffering from acute MTS and thus worry more about new tanks than obsessing on existing ones.

A people are usually the type that have one big show tank (like a 180 gallon) instead of lots of little ones. Thus they are constantly pruning their tank to keep it from getting dull.

BTW, I'm B because I don't have the green to get big tanks and there's not much you can switch around in a 2.5 gallon...
