Seeing as that's not an option I'd do one as scheduled. Just be sure (as I'm sure you do) that your water temps are matched. If they are acting stressed leave the lights off for the rest of the day. It's likely that they've experienced water changes before, depending on how long they were in the shop. ^_^ ![]() ![]() |

Only at 20 after three weeks. If you feel that you're going to stress the new fish out by doing a water change, you can certainly wait a few days to do it. Your fish definitely won't suffer. I think i may go ahead and wait until monday or tuesday.. just to let the little guys get used to their surroundings. as of right now, they hide behind a large rock and only come out when its food time they're shy little guys, im used to the mollies trying to suck my fingers off when i open the lid. ![]() Thanks for the advice guys. What you could do is just remove a very small amount of water 1Lt each day for a week. You can change more depending on the tank size. While I was away 2weeks my wife did that for several weeks and not a water problem when I came back. Labyrinth fishes, after all, are adapted to live in stagnant environments in the wild, so if you're keeping them in a well-aerated aquarium with a decent filter, this will keep them very happy indeed. They'll live without the gravel vac while you settle them in, and once they're settled, if you get them used to regular gravel vacs, they'll probably appreciate your diligence and TLC by spawning once they're old enough! |

Just give them a few days to settle & do it. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
