i'm going to get a 29g tank soon. i thought about what i wanted to do as far as aquascaping goes and have decided put caves and stuff with rocks and have some plants in there as well. any ideas as to what fish might be better off in a tank like this?

i totally agree. kribs love caves and plants to hang out in/under. and a 29 gallon is a great size for them. i've actually got a krib in my 29... might i suggest the females (if you're going to just get one) because they get a redder belly, so they're better looking, in my opinion. you could also try some rams, keyholes, or a lot of other cichlids that stay under 5-6 inches... just do research before you buy one... some are nasty.

if you're going for a planted aquarium too, i'd suggest some tiger barbs as well. they love to zip and weave around the plants.

the possibilities are endless...

As already stated, Kribensis like caves & i would give them a go in a 29 gal. tank.
Rams are also very interesting & do well in a Planted & caved tank.
