I didn't notice and am gonna be lazyyou're in the US right? If so or in the Northern Hemisphere, keep in mind it is summer time!

Even though the tank is inside, and the airconditioner is running there is a lot of evaporation going on, thus where the water is going, and why the water level is dropping...

I've noticed in the past couple of weeks my levels are dropping more than normal on my tanks, simply because of the evaporation...

Hints on helping this: Keep the lids shut, make sure the temp isn't too high, turn off the lights some if the heat is getting bad, cover up any areas that the lid is not covering, and well, just do more frequent top offs and water changes...

Also check your airlines to airpumps to be sure that one hasn't decided to siphon out for you, it does happen and you wouldn't notice right away...

That and do you have a cat? I know my cats used to love having a nice refreshing drink of sushi water now and again

It's summer and the water is evaporating much faster than it does at other times of the year.

If you are 100% sure it is not a leak, it must be evaporation caused by excessive heat. Have plenty of prepared water on hand at all times and top up every night.

maybe the fish drank the water:%)

are you using air conditioning? if so it increases evaporation by lowering humidity.
try to cover the tank. it will help a lot (got AC running half the year, so i know how you feel).

summer leads to heat, heat leads to water evaportion, water evaportion leads to less water in the tanks

i end up adding more every week.

Fish tanks are an expensive addiction

Yup.. evaporation. My tanks lose lots of water this time of year too. If you don't top them off at water change time then just add a little bit more water to compensate.

Is your fish tank on the top floor of a house? I keep mine on the lower level only because i dont have to waste a lot of money on AC but my friend has his tank upstairs in his room and he loses about an inch and a half of water out of a ten gallon tank each DAY. And he keeps his water coming, his fish is doing good to it's like a frequint water change i guess. (minus the suction/cleaning part.) It's okay what your waters doing though dont stress.
