is there a name for that white stuff wrapped around my airstone supplying co2 in the tank??? is it fungus?? tnx

I'm thinking it is just "stuffes" from your water. I had the same problem with my tank when I lived in Presidio...check and see how hard your water is and that should answer your question...heidi

hi guys....my kh is 5..and as im reading the thread sham gave me...wow...ive learned a lot..the thread was packed with info....took me awhile to read thru...thanks again...oh yeah...update...its bacteria colony which is harmless, so to speak.

i added my dwarf gouramis in the other tank where the whtie stuffs growing around my airstone...they ate it within an hour and they seems to be ok...

i had the same thing happened in my older tank..but i got lots of residents there that just keep on munching that stuffs..
