old 40g moving into 60g (40x24x18inches)

1 Angel
1 RTS
1 Clown PLeco
7 H. Rasbora
4 Neon Rainbows
6 Glowlight tetras (from 10g)
1 Dwarf Gourami
6 Corys
1 otto

old 40g setup with Tangs

Neolamprologus Brichardi,
Lelupi (Lemon ciclids)
& Julidichromis Regani
bristlenose pleco

what best filter for tang tank , been told best to over filter, could use fuval 304, 404 or rena XP2 and which from these three for 60g.

304 is on 40g at moment.

i'll post pictures and log of how setups are going, i should get my 60g in two weeks fingers crossed. i'm leaving 40g empty for while then start tang setup so i can check that the coral sand and rocks are gettng the water chemisty right for the fish.

Well, I added it up in my head and I think you might eventually be a little overstocked if you don't watch it because angels get so big that sometimes they kind of take over the tank. You need to be careful because last I heard angels can be kind of dirty sometimes. The plecos are a bit dirty too.

Also, you should probably up the neons to atleast 6 because 6 is the minimum for schooling fish. Also I am pretty sure that the ottos like to be in atleast pairs so you should probably add one or 2 more of them as well. Other than that, I think the tank sounds nice. You should post some pics. I am sure that everyone would love to see pics.

Not to mention that Angelfish like eating tetras. It's what they eat in the wild.

I have all ready discussed this topic with some other people. Basically they only eat the younger neons. If you get the neons and the angel while the angel is still really small then by the time the angels are big enough the neons are too big for the angels to eat them. I wanted to put an angel in the 55 I am getting ready to set up and I was going to put neons or cardinals in it as well. They will be fine. Also, once they all grow up the angels aren't fast enough to catch them for the most part anyway.

i already have all the fish in the community tank together apart from the tetra and dwarf gourami, so there is no worry about angel, she is already nearly fully grown, about 8inches tall and 4/5inches long including tail.
the gourami has lived with the angel before, i moved him to keep my bristlenose happy in my 10g, which i will be dismantaling once 60g is up and running.

i might get more ottos he is my only remaining one from five i got several years ago. i intend to get 2 male neons once tank is setup and i think there is room. they shoal with my rasbora so i'm not to worried about them not being in large shoal of own kind.

thanks for the replies.

what do people think of my cichlid setup for a 40g.

this is how 40g looks now, it will soon become home to the cichlids and these fish are moving into other room into the 60g
