after coming home from the petstore which is far away from home, I discovered fry which I'm assuming are from my zebra danios. right now they're being housed in 2 three gallon buckets and 2 half gallon fish bouwls as well as a 4 gallon fish bowl. I can't make a trip to the pets store and was wondering what I should feed them. I have all the materials to hatch baby brine shrimp, but I'm not sure if they're ready to eat them yet. Any information on how to care for the fry will really be appriciated.

90 gal. fish tank : 5 black skirt tetras,
5 neon tetras 7 cardinal tetras,7 fancy guppies (3m 4f.)

Take a baggie and put fish flakes in it mash it up very very well like to dust particles. Try that

What else is in your tank??? Why are all those fish in a bucket?? Is there a fish that will eat them?

If there is nothing put them back in the tank, I may be wrong but I think they need heat and filtration. Or they will all just die.

Baby brine shrimp should be fine as well, I would try both.

Try not to put to much in the tank or the mashed flakes will do a number on your tank =)

I have a 45 gallon fish tank with:
-6 zebra danio
-20 neon tetras
-5 black skirt tetras
-1 guppy

The fry might get eaten by any of these, but if not the filter would pick them up. I will try smashing flakes in a bag, but they are really small. I tried finding out what infusoria is, but I wasn't sure. It required pond water and I don't have access to any

if you have to keep them in the bowls make sure you keep the water oxygenated and replace the water with the main tanks water to keep the temp up. put them somewhere else asap

other options:

net breeder

float a plastic tupperware container in main tank partly filled with water and put fry in it

setup a new tank with filter and heater

if the tank is heavily planted put the fry back in there. they could hide and most of them would survive.

if the filter could be a problem cover the intake with a fine net material such as pantyhose

as for feeding either the crushed up flake powder or the baby brine shrimp should be fine

also if you have java moss put it with them as it will supply micro organisms for them to eat

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll have to make a choice quickly, but i'll start hatching the brine shrimp right away

Yes that is true, I do belive that it is hard boiled eggs, and its not the egg white its the yolk.

I am not to sure as to what you have to do to prepare it. I'll give you the link at the bottom.

I had some made by a friend, and I choose not to use it you have to use such a small amount, so it does not turn your water so cloudy as to almost look yellow

IMO, I like the flake or even beteter the liquid fry food, it costs 3.88 here at walmart so it will not break the bank.

Hope this helps
