	whats the best way???
ILoVeOsCaRs Banned Posts: 82 Kudos: 96 Votes: 4 Registered: 31-May-2005	whats the best way to freeze ur own feeder fish. i can only buy them live my LFS and fish stores for miles around are the same near me they dont self them frozen dont know why. do i just bang them in the freezer or what? that sounds cruel!!!

Darth Vader Big Fish Posts: 338 Kudos: 334 Votes: 35 Registered: 05-May-2005	i don't realy like talk about this sort of subject but i would probably put them in the freezer till they pass through the walls of of the bag and enter the graet beyond but make sure the water does not feeze then i'd put each fish in its own icecube thingy (don't use mums dometic one) so you can get one at a time but i agree it still is litle cruel but i bet thats what happens in nature excluding the freezing part

goldfishgeek Fish Addict Posts: 667 Kudos: 412 Votes: 38 Registered: 27-Oct-2003	I think you have to get to fifty posts efore you are called a hobbyist. do you have to feed your fish real fish? i am guessing by your name you want to feed ocsars? cool fish. its tough, like goldfish keeper said it is a uncomfortable topic. it does seem mean to buy live fish and then freeze them. any one with more experience have any suggestions? Comets wont need a heater(sponge filter makes it a cheap set up, or guppies will breed and make more for you). 10g tanks are $10 at Walmart. Prolly a cheap setup if you live miles away form a LFS, save on gas and pay for a 10g. Problem solved.

I think what you could do is just buy pre-frozen fish, or if you are serious about freezing the fresh ones, perhaps ask if where you get them, could they prepare frozen ones for you.
