If it's going to be a self-sustaining tank (planted, fry grow up in-tank), go with the australes - otherwise, I'd pick the gardneri, they're just lovely fish.

But better yet, scrap the killies and get some shelldwellers.

I just prefer the gardneri. It comes down nntirely to personal preference. Keeping them is much the same.
