I would then leave it out in the sun for a few days. Then resoak it for a few more days and then replace it back into the tank. You can remove the anubias from the driftwood and attach them to something else, rocks will work. Also, fungus tends to grow in stiller water conditions which isn't something you want happening anyway. If you have still spots, they can become anaerobic and cause all sorts of problems with stagnation. Think about adding a power head to the bottom of the tank to keep the water moving and oxygenated. As keith said, the drift wood should be removed and cleaned to get rid of whatever the fungus is growing on. |

It's perfectly harmless and will disappear by itself in a couple of weeks. It's usually caused by some minute organism decomposing in the wood. Once the decomposition process is complete it will disappear and not come back. Just leave it be, put up with the ugliness for a couple of weeks and it will be gone. Nothing to worry about.Very normal. ![]() Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

It's compleatly harmless to the fish, IME, and will just continue to come back until left to go away on it's own. Each piece of driftwood I've had has done this even after extensive prep. Scrubbing it off just clogged up my scrubby pad and still it came back. With the pieces I left alone it went away within a week or so and was alot less hassle. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] I need to calculate, what creates my own madness... and I am waiting for disaster" ![]() |

Just leave it be, or at the most, suck it off and out of the tank when you do your water changes. I do not recomend removing the driftwood and cleaning it. It will go away after a few weeks at most. There is always a bigger fish... |
