i luv white worms...my new fries r having a blast whenever i feed whte worms to them...even the smallest of them all..devouring the entire 1/4 inch worm like crazy...its just so fun to look at them when feeding comes

moderation is the key...(but one of the fries is very familiar with this worm and swims 1st whenever i dropped it...always getting around 4-5 worms during feeding time...what a pig!!! ] )

Live & healthy food is very good for the growth of the fry. They grow faster & healthier.
Try to feed them equal, so they'll grow up together.

Am I correct in thinking they are what we call Maggots Aust, UK Gents. These are generally use as an excellent fishing bait. I will not go into how they breed them but I would be extremly carefull in using them.

I gave up using live foods many years ago of the risk of introducing a problem into my tank.

Not saying this "will" happen I always play on the cautious side of safety.

Cool. What fry do you have there? Like said above, feed them equally to have them grow up together.

keith, do you ever breed fish?...and if so what do you usually feed the fry? I can't get my hands on much live food around here or I just don't feel like taking the time to make it so I wonder what prepared food gets the job done for you?

White worms I beleive are maggots, yes. I have seen my new neighbor feed his fry them and they all went crazy

white worms arent maggots, maggots are generally fly larvae.

well..im so sorry..but white worms r not maggots...and they r relatively safer than grindal worms and earthworms...i feed (worms) clean fud like rice, oatmeal, peas and fish fuds. its one of the best live fud around...rich in protein and fats (thats why be careful feeding this to fish...they get fat fast). heres some articles..might convince u to start feeding ur fish..its clean, safe and easy to reproduce.

and yeah..i just got platy fries.

well..right now..its summer here..so..its kinda hot for them staying even in a room...so..now...they r in my fridge...they still reproduce but at a slower rate. i feed them oatmeal, peas, rice, fish fud, etc... every 2 days..in small amt..i dont want to foul the media they r in....but if i see any excess fud the next feeding..i just remove it...they r basically very easy to maintain.

right now...i got only 1 container..still waiting to move and get a exclusive fridge for them to make more containers if ever this one crash on me.

i got mine from my lfs..they statred selling it (finally)...but in the states...u can find it in any lfs...or google it (aquabid)

Coud you post a photo and clear it up if they are maggots or not please.

Nameless

I have breed live bearers but that was over 30+ years ago. I can tell you things were totally different then. If I can remember there was live blood worms which could be chopped up, and there was always plenty of dry fry food around.

Thank you for that they certainly are not maggots.
