I love rearranging my tank. I rearrange or move still in it that much my fingers itch and the skins starts to peel

i just did another reaaranging i moved all my fish from my 10, and moved them to the 30, i moved a few plants here and there, and changed all my fry from the 1 gallon to that 10, and i was a bad girl and bought 5 more shrimp for the 10 and 2 of the prettiest guppies i have ever seen to the 30 (first is a 3/4 black that has dark iridesint blue wash that only shows up in floresent lighting, and the second is a a yellow cobraa with pink/orange tips on his tail) i think i am happy for now, till i get my 55 that is hey, lets see who is the most obsessive and post here if u were a bad fishkeeper

Lately I have been worse about this. I have just been VERY unhappy with my 30 gallon. No matter what I do I can never get the light levels where I need them to be to turn it into the lush garden I know it can be. I am ALMOST at the point of completely removing the hood and suspending a grow lamp above it like I did with my bettas. Hopefully then I can get it to do what I want it to do. My 10 gallon has become a recent victim of my rearranging as well. In about 2 months it went from a betta breeder, to a dwarf eel and guppy, to a dwarf puffer, to a platy tank. But during all of this, I built my most impressive piece of aquascaping ever. I managed to find an interesting piece of driftwood on Lake Erie, and after tons and tons of boiling, I got it to where it sits upright, and have the most gorgeous java fern and java moss attached to it already. It is something I am TRULY proud of! So proud of in fact that I am thinking of ways of adding it to my 30 gallon instead of leaving it in the 10 (even though it hides the heater perfectly). So... long story short... I did not have my issues till recently, but right now I am NOT happy with my 30, so I keep changing it. Ideas are VERY welcome! I have one large, lovely java fern in there that I am VERY attached to, so any new plans have to include it, and I finally managed to get my dwarf lily to grow more like a hedge than a lily pad, so I would rather like to keep it too. The 30 gallon is home to 2 koi angels... the two clown plecos have been temporarily moved as I THOUGHT we were about to have a spawn. I am thinking I have two males who are trying to fool me though. I am seriously considering trading in these two for 5 babies again and hoping for a pair (AGAIN). See... not happy with much of anything in that tank! ACK!

obsessed with detail?

would this be conciderd obsessed?
i glide my hand causeing a severe current over a piece of slate i have sunk down in sand. only the top shows up so by glideing over it the sand moves slightly. i do this till i get a desired effect of its been there a while but it can still be seen well. a light dusting.

i do this weekly...pleco swims over it and disturbs all the sand on the rock lol.

do the fish care? prolly not. but i think the decor of a tank is more about the owner then the fish. the fish only care is it casts a shade or grows algae on it.

this isn't surprising, being that people who are hardcore fish owners are also stereotypically obsessed with detail.

Used to never be able to just "fix one thing" on the tank without spending say 30 minutes playing .

I've got a simple aquascape now and I dont really mess with it too much...I've just added a few more plants to the bigger of the office tanks ...probably wont change much of anything in there for awhile.

Okay, I admit, I have a problem.
HI, I am Clownygirl and I got some rearranging issues.
I have to put my hand into the tank every once in a while and I can think of wierd excuses. I have been planting my 33 gal so that's taken my mind off the 79 gal, but I have some new pieces of wood I want to put into the bigger tank, and have to move the wood from the bigger tank to the smaller tank. That's for when I run out of excuses.

I move fish around a bit more than I change decor. I have reaquascaped my 125 gallon but that's because I got my "breeder box" and full divider finished so I had to reaquascape around these things. as for moving fish around, this is mainly as fish grow. I may put them in a smaller tank to grow out a bit and then move them to their larger home.

My Red Devil on the other hand definitely suffers from Obsessive Tank Rearranging Disorder (or OTRD for short). He definitely does more aquascaping than I do.

I've been rearranging my tank about every two weeks, and probably will continue until I can get the amount of plants I want... not to mention these two plants I have that grow about an inch and a half a week (no idea what they're called, I should probably look them up)

I may not actually do it but there's always something going on in my mind...change aquascaping, rearrange fish, new plants, new tank

I actually have a 'fish & plants wish-list' saved (hidden) on the computer

i do very much so!!!!!!!

i've chanced my 40g around, removed plants then put new plats in, rocks in and out etc.
since i moved into my flat in sepember the 40g tank layout has changed at least 6 times.

i've also changed my small tank twice and i aquascapped both my parents and my girlfriends parents tanks this past weekend.

girlfriends tank i've put in a black background, with river gravel max 1inch depth around back and sides, with sand in the middle and front, then have two pieces bogwood planted with java fern, thats it looks really good.

Since it puts stress on my fish I don't rearrange my tank that often.

*points* RACSO!!! I think he rearranges ALL his larger tanks (1 x 46g, 2 x 29g, 1 x 15g, 1 x 10g, and he might throw in 1 x 5g and 2 x 2.5g) AT LEAST once a week Take last week... he was supposed to be organizing things in his room. Instead, he redecorated all his tanks, and moved the fish around. GAH drives me nuts!!! :%)

I'm the opposite-- I rearrange rocks constantly, but I usually like how my plants look once I do them

Now, I just need to stop changing substrates so much, and moving tanks from place to place in the house-- THOSE are the heavy-duty ones...

I will the touch up and general maintainence but that is all. Tanks are like gardens they take time to develop and be appreciated. It will be several years before I do any real work on my tank.

My fingers itch sometimes thinknig about how I'd like to move things round a bit to make it look more "tidy" but I have too many bottom dwelling catties that wouldn't be happy at all if I changed things round too much so I make do with changing a little here and there.... just enough to satisfy that urge

I dont.

My dad used to do stuff like with his tanks, like re-arrange stuff, ect.

His fish didnt live very long (maby 1 year max) untill when he re-set up the tank here, he left it alone, and now our fish are rewally old and healthy.
