| yet another question about stocking limitations | |

The tank will be planted with hairgrass, java moss, and micro swords and have an ample filtrations system. I'll do my usual weekly 20% water change. My ideal stock would be 5 kuhli loaches, 5 panda cories, 8 black neon tetras or 8 penguin tetras, and 1 male betta. ba Thanks for your input. edited to correct thread title Last edited by zoeandmaia at 09-Feb-2005 16:27 |

But what of them are you trying to breed? (the name of your thread is questioning breeding?) There is always a bigger fish... |

Just keep the 20% weekly water change & don't over feed. Are you trying to breed the Panda's or the Tetra?. http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Thanks to technology it was already filled in when I opened a new thread and I didn't even notice. I'm not planning to breed any of these fish (although I'd love to breed the pandas). I was really only asking about overstocking issues. Btw, I think I've decided to change the stock. I may eliminate the tetras and do 6 kuhlis, 10 pandas and a betta. (Plus so otos to keep the algae in check). Sorry for the confusion. If you'd like to offer me advice on breeding that post is here . . . Thanks! |

Now they are actually quite brave (as far as kuhlis go). They usually venture out at feeding time and instead of disappearing under the rocks they twine around the plants. They are quite comical if you really pay attention to them. I do appreciate the advice though. I'll go ahead with the initial plan. ![]() |

Neons is always a good choice because the bioload is tiny and they look great in larger groups. |
