If you want, you can build around the iorn stand. This would save you alot of work because you wouldn't have to worry about supporting the tank.

Was the tank ever filled up? Chances are that an iron stand built for a 150 gallon tank will hold 150 gallons of water.

tank was used for fresh water. as far as what i'm going with. either some kind of cichlid tank, or something where i can only have one or two of something LARGE

How about stingrays? Though this would be alot of work and I don't know if you can actually keep 2, it depends on the dimentions.

i thought about rays, but from what i seen of them, they are only bottom of the tanks. i'm looking at more of a mid level fish. one of the thoughts right now is either an african cichlids, maybe some large catfish or possible a small shark. not even sure yet.

here are the measurements.

72"L x 18"W x 28"H

what i dont like, is the fact i have to almost empty my 40g to move it. which its going to end up under the 150g. pics to come as it happens. unfortunetly, this is a few month project. as i need to buy everything

By shark,do you mean freshwater shark, or shark shark? The only small sharks are catsharks and bamboo sharks. Not only are these still too big for your tank, but they are nocturnal bottom feeders.

Rays are also too big for you, as they need a width of 2 feet +. You could possibly squeeze one in there, but you don't seem a fan of them so I won't press the issue.

I suggest haps from lake mawali. Something like an eye-biter would look very nice in there.

dam, i'm goign to have to put up a large pool to get what i want lol...

well then i just keep researching. sounds like my only options for any type of shark, fresh or salt, would be just a bala or possibly 2.

but then this is the best part of a new tank, researching what i can go with.
