well it came with a light strip but no hood but i will just use a piece of plexi glass, it came with a wisper power filter with flow control (never had flow control before)it came with a nice air pump, a 2 way splitter a air decoration (with a turtle and diver), i got a background with it, a plant, a rock, a heater, and what i think may have been a fry net? (just the net thingy no frame), but its all in working condition (i havent tested the filter, but being see through, i dident see naything wrong, oh, and a filter pad, barley used...i might change it, but im not gunna add fish untill i cyce it and the such, how much ammonia should i add it lemon scented(yea right) but i have about a gallon of it, i havent washed it up yet, but i have to clean out a 10 gallon first, so i can make room....its filthy, im guessing it might have had goldies in itbt thats just assuming because she sadid she could never keep fish alive....20 gallons r bigger than i thought

Clean it well & cycle it. You've got plenty of time to make up your mind what to do.
Lucky you for the free tank.

should i just dump a bunch in, i mean, it realy doesnt matter if it spiks that high does it?, i mean theres nothing in it to be harmed, will it go quicker that way, or slower, should i add the gravel, after the cycle?, should i wait on live plants? or will they enjoy havign the nutriance (i think they like nitrIts)..never done it this way either

well, i cleaned up the filter, and its actually clear it also came with an anerobic grid never heard of those before but im gunna go pick some gravely sand up as a substrait, and im gunna add the ammonia the next time i run upstairs, but, no leaks, i spent a while cleaning up the rank, and found no scratches only on the bottom from the gravel though i cant wait till i can pick up the gravel but the longer it takes me to get the gravel and decor in there, the longer it will stop me from adding any fish early

I think the plants actually prefer nitrAtes...I think.

Congrats on the new tank, I got a 20 long for free once and it didn't come with a hood, went to the lfs to get one and of course they have stopped production of the hood thaty fits the dimension of my tank...stupid irregularly shaped tank...

For cycling I just add sometihng like biozyme or other commercial products...well, recommended as alternatives to bio spira any way...and they work fine. If you have ever heard of bact seed and bact feed I recommend that to cycle, it worked well with me and only took 2 weeks to fully cycle my 55.

bhave tested the amm., but my test strips dissapeared

but a few hours later the water was clowdy, so i added crystal clear, and clear water, the water was clear, but all the residue went to the bottom, now, i wasnt sure if that was good or bad, if i should leave it or stir it up again, so, i stirred it up with my blue scrubber on a stick, i will test again right now.....nitrIts-.5-1 nitAtes-less than 20, and alot of good stirring it up its all the the bottom again
