Diatoms if I'm not mistakin. May I inquire about the specifics of your tank other than size: Number of fish? Filteration type/size? Protien Skimmer? Live Rock Amount? Lighting? Test results ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? Any information helps. |

SW setups can take as long as several months to completely cycle. Remember the three most important things when it comes to setting up and keeping up a SW tank; Patience, Patience, and Patience. Oh, did I mention Patience? If you rush it, you will be sorry. If you take your time and go very slowly, you will be very satisfied in the end. There is always a bigger fish... |

The brown algae will also nearly stop growing after your tank cycles. With the snails to help you shouldn't see it again unless you mess with the tank too much. When I moved my tank from 1 side of the room to the other and had to remove half the rocks for the move the brown algae came back for a month. |
