They aren't picky eaters, but won't often come to the surface. I'm sure you've found that out already though. Just make sure to have a large enough sand bed, at least 3 inches near his burrow. Otherwise they will continue to try and jump ship until they succeed. Even in good conditions they can be jumpers, so watch out. Otherwise I really enjoy mine.

he is settled right at the front of the tank in his burrow.
Lovely active fish, will come midway to eat, too.
eats anything i give including teeny mantis
