dthurs Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4340 Kudos: 4170 Votes: 529 Registered: 18-Feb-2003 | Sand is for teh most part, maint. free. For a tank your size, you will need around 100 pounds. Try to get between 2" and 3" of sand. Doing this will allow enough depth for teh nitrogen cycle. This converts nitrates to nitrogen. Dan |
