	What The Heck Is This

My only guess to wat it is, is its the beggining of corraline algae but i really dont know. This "stuff" looks like purple peach fuzz and it was tough to get a good pic do to its size. does anyone know what this is too? *Attached Image:* >>>----> <----<<< pnh

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002	No the Neomeris sp. algae is not bad for the tank. It does however use calcium for growth, so if there is a lot of it then you might have problems with calcium upkeep. As long as you keep your levels in check (nutrients) then it should stay pretty much in one place.

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002	Liana, it is similar to halimeda as far as it using calcium and nutrients to grow. Its growth shape is totally different though, and doesnt branch out. It just grows like the picture shows. Reef Inverts has some info on it Im sure www.algaebase.org does too
