I don't keep salt water fish. I was at a new doctor's office today and they had a huge salt water aquarium. Most of the fish I could make out, a yellow tang, a few clown fishes, but there was this thing I couldn't. It was all red, with four arms, sort of like a spider, maybe 10 inches long from arm to arm, on the bottom of the tank. It was under alot of rock, so I could really never get a good look at it. What is it?

10"? That's pretty huge. My first guess is an arrow crab, but I don't know how big they get. Arrow crabs, are kind of spider-like, though.

Maybe I should added more info. It had four arms, each about 4 inches long. In the midlle was a sort of egg shaped body. Whatever it was there did seem to be any armor, like a crab. it's arms sort of just waved and it seemes to move on the little current there was.

A red Brittle star...? I'm having a hard time imagining what you're trying to describe.
