i dont know if that ed b a good idea, whenever we catch em we dont even bring em onto the peir/into the boat, we just cut the whole line a couple of meter from the pointy end of the snake. there just too dangerous. i dont know if its true but i heard they can kill u in only minutes.

Hi Guys,

Sea snakes are not kept for the very reason above, they are just too dangerous, if they do become aggressive and you get bit the timeframe till death can be under a minute, certinally one sea creature not to be taken for granted and best left alone even in the wild.

i usualy drop the rod and get my best mate to cut the line!

Not that I suggest keeping on in a tank, but from what I understand, you have to be very careless (almost try) to get bit. They have very small mouths and (from what I've heard) can really only get you between the fingers/toes, ears, or any other small body part. Again, I'm not an expert, just some things I've heard

There are some water snakes that you can keep but there not saltwater. There called tentacle snakes.

Theres a caresheet there for them. I would think that extensive knowledge and experience in aquariums and snakes would be necessary. They have some venom but its very mild and only used for stunning the prey
