I'm surprised because i've never in my fishkeeping time seen them here. So I put some on hold and will be picking them up tomorrow. ![]() Just wanting to hear from anyone that has these guys. Anything I should know about them that isnt written about in articles online? I wanna keep them happy! I have a few spare tanks here that I could use for them. I was planning to keep them in my community 55g that has 5 cories, 6 pristella tetras, 5 glass catfish, a RTB, a clown loach thats looking for a new home, 2 BN plecs and 4 cherry barbs. Does that sound alright? Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

If mixed, Endler's are like other livebearers in that they should be kept in a ratio of at least 1M/2F. They don't eat their own fry, but in a community tank the other fish might; fry are very small. They're quite active yet peaceful, and will eat anything. They tend to like temps a bit warmer and appreciate a planted tank. ~~ ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

The males all have slightly different patterns but I think are only just beginning to color up. What temp do you suggest? I have the tank at 76F. Last month I ordered three new color patterns. They're in a separate tank which actually doesn't have a heater. Daytime temp is that tank is 76-77°. I really haven't noticed any difference in behavior, color, growth, etc in being kept at a bit lower temp. My only Endler's complaint is that they're very difficult to photograph :%) ~~ ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I nearly fell over with disbelief when I saw them! ![]() I'm not sure what color pattern they are. Theresa, or anyone else, is there a site that names the different patterns? I agree they are going to be hard to photograph. They are only half an inch long. I might try it sometime soon. :%) Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 ![]() ![]() | I've read that they are very closely related to guppies, and that their water conditions are the same to keep them happy. They are so much like the guppies that they can cross breed, so if you want to keep them a pure strain, keep the guppies away from them...:%) "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." I have also noticed that the males have a sword. Is that a common trait? They change as they mature do they? And dont worry I wont let guppies near these guys! These guys also appreciate some salt in their water and as mentioned temp on the higher side. |
