for my feeder fry, what would be an acceptable size to remove them fromt he tank and feed to an oscar.i dont want them to be too small but id rather not wait several months until they are full grown.

Whenever they look like a decent meal. Not much point putting them in too young or he won't get much out of them at all.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Dosnt it depend on the size of the oscar and what fry we're using?
Anyway, if the oscar is fully grown and youre using guppies, the guppies should be nearly fully grown. Platies and mollies perhaps half. But as calla says, just enough to be worth the energy to consume, and be gutloaded with good foods.
