How to help birth of platy fry? | |
fishys_cant_fly Hobbyist Posts: 138 Kudos: 114 Votes: 2 Registered: 22-Dec-2005 | My platy is fat and ready for babies. She is supposed to drop them already, but she hasnt. She is normal and eating fine and everything. Is there a good way to induce labor quickly? She is still in normal birthing time.its been about 3 and a half weeks maybe. Thanks. -FCF- |

I have the father platy not chasing her to mate, but wants to be a inch away form her at all times, but doesn't try mating at all. I have the bredding trap but i think she will get stressed out. I turned up the heat a pinch, and i give mashed flakes and bloodworms, anything else i can do? About the fry, i think i will save 2-3 and the others will have to try not to be eaten. I only want the healythiest ones to reproduce, plus i don't have much extra room. Should i put her in the breeder ma-bob? She needs to drop within the next three days or she'll be very late to babies. -FCF- |
