Hi, we have just closed down the old 31.5G reef tank (see picture of the old tank). Everything you see (except for the Tang) has been transferred to the new tank.

Here is a shot of the new tank, looking much less crowded. The only addition is a few extra pieces of live rock. It's probably hard to tell from the pic that it is so much bigger - the only clue being the very front & the very back are much more open now. You can see a lot more of the black rear wall now (as well as more gap between the uppermost coral & the tank lid.

We have a compact PC light fitting above the tank (transferred across from the old tank) with 192W. This tank is a lot deeper and holds much more water that the old one. Our question is, should we add another identical light fitting (another 192W) or is that too much?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can tell it looks much bigger! Congrats on the successful upgrade.

I think you could easily go with another 96W, probably a 192W fixture on the tank, but if you do get one, acclimate your corals to the lighting by turning on one bulb for a couple hours, and increasing an hour every week or two, until you get up to where you want. Just make sure your corals are responding positively to the increased light before you increase it more.
