Hi, is that a new piece of driftwood. If it is then its probably from that. I noticed that sort of white fluffy stuff growing on a new piece that I had put in but eventually it just disappears. It did no harm to anything else in the tank.

Those who say they cant, Never will !!!

Sometimes there is organic materical on the driftwood that will rot, and that white stuff is a fungus. You can take it off and until it's done rotting, it will come back. It's not harmful, and pretty normal.

All normal when setting up a new tank. Are there any fish in it yet?

The cloudiness can be a few things, such as particulate matter (dust) that hasn't settled yet, or oranic material creating blooms of bacteria.
