Ordered 6 Pseudomugil furcatus a few weeks ago, all have settled in nicely in the 20g, will eventually reseal and set up the 46 for a nice shoal of 16-20 total... generously planted of course hehe..

Don't know much about them. You got a link where I can learn more? I like their blue eyes. Sparkling gourami have blue eyes too but no yellow finnage like yours.

Substrate wise, I'm not much help either. I do know, for some reason every time my lfs and I used white gravel, the fish did no good.

I did put in some black gravel with neon tetras and it really brought out the neon colors spectactularly.

I am never in favour of black substrate (never say never) in this case with the pale colouring I thing a black substrate by that I do not mean the highly polished reflective gravel but a soft natural 1-3mm colour.
Also a strong dark green plants will also lift their colouring.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Brengun, here are just a few links to start>>

Keith, I know what ya mean about the glossy-reflective substrates, tho I am guilty myself of using the black sand in the 46 for about 3 years. The red flourite in the 20 currently is a good natural sub, but does clash with the soft yellow/blue of the fish. I really do like the color blend of the black flourite and ecco complete mix currently in the 55 community, but I have seen a red ecco complete, its no where near as intense as the red flourite.
The dark leaved plants would be a super nice compliment, have been thinking of a few different varieties that can thrive in slightly alkaline water, moderately strong currents, with atleast for now 1.3 WPG ( double- bulb std floro light fixture)also intend on a few good sized chunks of bogwood.

These little guys are highly active and loads of fun to watch play in the water discharge of the HOT-250 ( cannister on a 20G) flow is directed downward along the back wall into the lower left rear corner of the tank, they still have plenty of calm space to rest, eat, and bed down for the nights.

thanks again for the input, any other suggestions welcome !!

Now I'm seeing your little guys everywhere.
First I noticed an online lfs here has them and the other day I went to a new lfs and they had a tank full of them.
The blue eye is very nice.
