Also, I would describe the symptoms as growths rather than cotton-like (which implies the growths are fiberous). I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Though they are solid masses, they can appear somewhat cottony, as in the picture of the queen angel here. At least that's how they look to me.
