Shinigami Ichthyophile Catfish/Oddball Fan Posts: 9962 Kudos: 2915 Registered: 22-Feb-2001 | I'm pretty sure this fish is actually a carnivore; looking into it, these fish primarily feed on insects such as ants in the wild. Characins is spelled wrong. I wouldn't give the length of P. siamensis here; I have been finding that this fish gets at least 6" in length. IMO, we can save actually giving the specific length of P. siamensis for when the profile is written for it. That way we won't have to go back and keep changing this article for lengths. Just an opinion to totally omit the length here, but at the very least the length given is probably on the low side. And during my research of these a while ago, i came accross many references that said they were sometimes difficult to take to prepared foods. Often only eating live foods.
