longhairedgit Fish Guru Lord of the Beasts Posts: 2502 Kudos: 1778 Votes: 29 Registered: 21-Aug-2005 | Reject It would be better to say blanched, the idea with foods for ancistrus is not to cook them thoroughly as microwaving in a cup for a couple of minutes would do, but to merely soften them, make them more palatable and neutralise some potential pesticide residue.It also may or may not have any effect on the bouyancy of the vegetable. Cooking the veg for that long will significantly reduce its nutritive value.A quick steaming or blanching is a more appropriate way. |
