While the fish in the picture does appear to be preserved, it looks exactly like the common Hypostomus I can order in at work. PlanetCatfish doesn't list it as a valid species, and Fishbase has no pictures and very little information, indicating that it is probably very rare. And if it was imported, I doubt that it would go to Australia becuase they have such strict importation laws when it comes to Loricariids. Until I see proof that this is H. niceforoi (easily accomplished by emailing the Fishbase collaborator for Loricariidae), I'll approve this change.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

If it is or it isn't H. niceforoi is not something that I could say. That should definately be checked if it has come into doubt.
I cannot approve this change for a few reasons.
Firstly you have not capitalised your genus.
The next bit sounds impressive, but you can't on one hand endorse the original preserved specimen and then say that the collection area is better for catching X fish as (apart from being somewhat superfluous) that implies that the original was incorrectly identified. It would be far more useful to name some common collecting grounds (not to precisely though, if these are as rare as they appear)
And you spelled predatory incorrectly.

Ideally this would not be a "replace text" as the first sentence is pretty pointless and could have simply been a question to the submitter as to the origins of the photo. The second part is interesting, definately moreso than the old text, but it doesn't point out that the species is rare, and really could probably have clearer explanations of the terms used and more relevant information on the topic of collection.
For example, people with no scientific background (that'd be at least half of the FP profile users I'd bet, probably more) wouldn't have a clue what a holotype is.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.
