Hi all,

Has anyone got a sump incoporating a overflow safty valve. IE, if the pump fails and water not pumped back to tank then the full volume of the tank woung tricle down into the sump. Eventually the sump would over flow and being in a flat could and up downstairs. Can anyone recommened a system as a overflow sump over hours would cause a lot of damage. Some sumps seen on the internet does not seam to incoporate a cut out system.

Thanks Jeves.

Never done one myself, but, having shop-vacced my parents basement every time it rained () I was reminded of the fact that shop vacs have a float ball that stops it from sucking up too much water before you've had a chance to dump the container.

Not sure if you could incorporate something similar. It was basically just a plastic ball that stopped it from allowing any more water in once it floated to a specific height.
